Irresistible Sweet Chili Chicken

A deliciously crispy chicken dish coated in a sweet and spicy chili sauce that’s perfect for any occasion.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip them in the beaten eggs.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden and crispy, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Return the fried chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
