Hobo Casserole with Ground Beef & Potatoes – Quick & Delicious!

A hearty and comforting casserole with ground beef, potatoes, and simple seasonings, baked to perfection.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Layer the sliced potatoes and chopped onions in the prepared baking dish. Top with the browned ground beef.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour over the beef and potatoes.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with cheese, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
