For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 (30 oz) package frozen shredded hashbrowns
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef and onion with the frozen hashbrowns, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
