Hamburger Hashbrown Casserole

A hearty and comforting casserole combining ground beef, hashbrowns, and cheese for a delicious family meal.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (30 oz) package frozen shredded hashbrowns
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef and onion with the frozen hashbrowns, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
