For the Crust:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb Italian sausage, cooked
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add warm water and melted butter, then knead into a smooth dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Press the dough into a greased deep-dish pizza pan, covering the bottom and sides.
- Layer half the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the dough, followed by cooked sausage, marinara sauce, and remaining cheese.
- Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
