  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb Italian sausage, cooked
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add warm water and melted butter, then knead into a smooth dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Press the dough into a greased deep-dish pizza pan, covering the bottom and sides.
  3. Layer half the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the dough, followed by cooked sausage, marinara sauce, and remaining cheese.
  4. Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder.
  5. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
