Classic Meatloaf Recipe

A comforting and hearty classic meatloaf made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a savory glaze.

For the Crust:

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
  4. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread evenly over the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
