Cinnamon Donut Bread

A deliciously moist and cinnamon-spiced bread that tastes just like a classic donut.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool for 10 minutes, then brush with melted butter and coat with cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
