For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz pasta (such as penne or rotini)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until onion is soft, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and water. Bring to a simmer.
- Add uncooked pasta to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, cover, and let melt for 2-3 minutes before serving.
