For the Crust:
- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 2 tablespoons diced red onion
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices bread (sourdough or whole wheat)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spread the tuna mixture evenly on 4 slices of bread. Top each with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover with the remaining bread slices.
- Butter the outer sides of each sandwich.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
