Mongolian Beef

A delicious and savory Mongolian Beef dish with tender slices of beef in a sweet and savory sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Coat the sliced beef in cornstarch and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Cook the beef until browned, then remove from the pan.
  3. In the same pan, sauté ginger and garlic for 30 seconds. Add soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Return the beef to the pan and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
