Beef and Pepper Rice Bowls

A quick and flavorful stir-fry with tender beef, crisp bell peppers, and a savory sauce served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) to make the sauce.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add bell peppers and onion. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over. Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes until everything is coated and heated through.
  6. Serve over cooked rice.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
